Nine

Nine stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman,Fergie, Sophia Loren, and Marion Cotillard. It is the story of and Italian movie writer/director (Day-Lewis)that has to create a new movie and he is experiencing writers block. There are various musical numbers incorporated that are from his past, present and future.

Let me start out by saying I LOVE MUSICALS, but this one was TORTURE! Seriously, it made me want to rip my toe nails off. It took nearly a half hour to get started and then when it did the musical numbers fell flat. There was only one sorta kinda interesting number with Fergie and some sand and tambourines, but that was it.

I will say that all the women in this movie sang their songs well, but the songs themselves were B O R I N G! Hopefully this will remind people that Daniel Day-Lewis is just simply too old to play a sexually desirable leading man because he was way disgusting. This was a huge disappointment for me because it looked so incredible from all the Oscar buzz and from the trailer.

Overall I give this one a 2 and that is only because I didn't shut it off. I paid good money to rent this one. That might make it that much more disappointing.
